Jess Bailey

Bio/CV: 
Jess Bailey (PhD 2022) teaches Medieval European art and visual culture in the History of Art Department at the University of Edinburgh. Previous to joining the faculty at Edinburgh, she was an Associate Lecturer of Medieval art history at University College London where her research was awarded a Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellowship. Bailey's research considers the representation of the body and violence in Medieval European art with an attention to questions of gender, sexuality, and disability. Her PhD in Art History and Medieval Studies was advised by Professors Beate Fricke and Elizabeth Honig, and she also holds a BA degree in the HIstory of Art from UC Berkeley.
